Hinton Northern Rockies is a proud sponsor of the third edition of Raid the Rockies, taking place from July 5–8, 2026. Organized by Adventure Immersion Lab, this premier multi-day stage race invites athletes from across the globe to challenge themselves in the pristine wilderness surrounding our community.
The Race Experience: Over 3.5 days, teams of two, three, or four will engage in mountain biking, trekking, packrafting, and rope activities. Relying entirely on traditional map and compass navigation—no GPS allowed—participants will navigate the region's diverse terrain for 9 to 16 hours each day. Each evening, athletes will return to the race headquarters at the Tara Vista Inn in Hinton for rest and community connection.
Global Competition: For the first time, coed teams of four will compete for a direct, free entry to the ARWS World Championships in France. As an ARWS Expedition Stage Race, Raid the Rockies is one of only two North American qualifiers offering this prestigious opportunity in 2026. All participating teams will also earn points toward regional rankings in the ARWS North American Series.
Spectators Welcome: You do not need to be racing to participate in the excitement. Raid the Rockies is a highly spectator-friendly event. Family, friends, and local residents are encouraged to cheer on the teams and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of Hinton's local amenities while the athletes are on the course.
