FISHING & SPORT

Hinton has a remarkable variety of areas to fish. There are no shortage of lakes to choose from when looking to land that big catch.

Of the many nearby lakes, locals prefer Jarvis Lake, Blue Lake, Kinky Lake, Wildhorse Lake, and Rock Lake as some of their favourites.

Some of the fish you can catch in the area include Arctic Grayling, Bull Trout, Burbot, Brook Trout, Lake Trout, Lake Whitefish, Rainbow Trout and Rocky Mountain Whitefish.

During the winter months, ice fishing is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. Make sure the ice is thick and remember that safety comes first. Around Hinton, there are ice fishing opportunities at: Gregg Lake, Jarvis Lake, Kinky Lake, and Wildhorse Lake.

The Hinton Fish and Game Association advocates conservation and management of fish & wildlife and habitat while maintaining natures balance for the continuing benefit of the associations members and the general public.
