Gregg River Falls offers a short, forested walk to a peaceful waterfall—the perfect spot to unwind and explore.

Take Hwy 40 North, cross the Gregg River bridge, and a few minutes later look for a gravel pull-off on the right side of the road. The falls are a short walk from here. No signage or formal parking.

Location & Access

Gregg River Falls is located about 25 km south of Hinton along Highway 40, just past the Gregg River bridge—about a 20–30 minute drive with a gravel pull-off on your right.

What to Expect

This is not a massive cascade, but its layered ledges and forested cliffs create a relaxed, intimate setting. Clear pools are perfect for dipping your feet on a hot day! No public amenities—pack out your waste and remember: Leave No Trace.

Tips for Visitors

  • No Cell Service: There is little to no reception in the area. Download directions and maps ahead of time or bring a GPS.

  • No Facilities: There are no bathrooms, garbage bins, or water taps. Pack out all trash and bring everything you need.

  • Access & Parking: Park respectfully on the gravel pull-off near Luscar Road.

  • Leave No Trace: Stick to existing paths and avoid creating new ones. Don’t stack rocks or carve into trees or the landscape.

  • Wear Proper Footwear: The path may be muddy, uneven, or slippery, especially after rain. Closed-toe shoes with good tread are recommended.

  • Wildlife Awareness: Bears, moose, and other wildlife frequent the area. Carry bear spray, stay alert, and make noise on the trail.

  • No Fires or Camping: Open fires are not permitted, and there are no designated campsites. Please respect fire bans and camp elsewhere.

  • Keep Dogs Leashed: Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times to protect both wildlife and other visitors. Clean up after your pet.

  • Swimming is Not Recommended: Due to changing water levels, slippery rocks, and lack of designated access.

  • Trail Conditions Vary: There is no official maintenance of the trail. It can become overgrown or washed out—proceed with caution.

  • Be Considerate: This is a quiet, undeveloped natural space. Avoid playing loud music or leaving markings of any kind.
