Make It a Day Trip from Hinton

Turn your visit to Hinton into a day of adventure in the Canadian Rockies:

  • Morning: The beavers are active early, so aim for sunrise at the Beaver Boardwalk - watching the busy activities at the beaver's lodge. Fuel up with breakfast at the Old Grind (and maybe grab something for a picnic lunch as well).

  • Mid-morning: Start to drive towards Jasper. There are some amazing things to do along the way, so maybe enjoy a picnic lunch enroute. Some great stops & side journeys include: Wildhorse Lake, Miette Hot Springs, Jasper Lake (very shallow - great for kids), and lots of opportunities to see animals, particularly the big horn sheep.

  • Afternoon: After arriving in Jasper and checking out the town, go rafting with Rocky Mountain River Guides!

  • Evening: Head back towards Hinton and stop on your way to enjoy dinner & a local craft beer from Folding Mountain Brewery.
