We Have A Winner For Our Spring Photo Contest!

Spring Photo Contest Winner – A Rare Wild Encounter

This year’s Hinton Northern Rockies Spring Photo Contest brought in incredible snapshots of our wild and beautiful region—but one image stopped us in our tracks.

Captured by Ryan Bobroske, the winning photo shows a rare and intimate moment: a lynx resting peacefully on a quiet trail near the Brule Sand Dunes. Ryan shared the unforgettable story behind the shot:

“I was walking down an old quad trail on the Overlander side of the Brule Sand Dunes, coming back from a pond where I’d been photographing ducks. Then—you wouldn’t believe it—I’m nearly back to the truck and there’s a lynx sleeping on the trail about 30 yards away! Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime experience!”

Moments like this are what make the Hinton Northern Rockies so special. Thank you, Ryan, for capturing and sharing a glimpse into the wild heart of our region.
